Abuser strangles victim, later arrested on assault charges

1. Federal Way police followed up on a 911 call regarding a domestic assault that took place in an apartment complex at 952 Southwest Campus Drive. The female victim told Federal Way officers that she and a friend were drinking and later fell asleep. She was awoken in the middle of the night because the friend was strangling her in her bed. The report states that he dragged her along the ground and elbowed her in the face. The report also states that the suspect kicked the victim in the face and bit her in various places. Federal Way police said the victim had various visible injuries and complained of pain. The officers later caught up to the suspect at his residence and arrested him. He was booked in the Fife Jail on charges of Assault in the fourth degree. The event took place on July 29, and was reported at approximately 12:30 a.m.

2. On July 30, at approximately 12:55 a.m., Federal Way police conducted a routine traffic stop in the vicinity of 31300 Pacific Highway South. The officers pulled over the vehicle for an apparent expiration of the 45-day temporary license plates. The vehicle was a brown 1993 Dodge. Upon contacting the driver, Federal Way officers determined that Sharon M. Lewis was driving with a suspended license and had an outstanding warrant for her arrest. Security cameras at the casino provided a visual description of the suspect. The suspect was located by police about a block from his residence on foot. He admitted to being the driver of the vehicle involved in the hit-and-run accident. He told police that he was just scared. He was placed into custody and later cited and released for DUI and hit-and-run attended. The suspect was driving a white 1980 Mercedes and was involved in the collision with a red 2002 Chevrolet.

5. Federal Way traffic officers were scanning random license plates near the intersection of Enchanted Parkway south and South 356th Street. Upon conducting the search, the officer turned up a vehicle with plates that were reported stolen. The officer then followed the vehicle, and made contact with the driver. The vehicle was a green 1995 Acura. Federal Way police arrested the driver and booked him into the Fife Jail. The event took place a 7:50 a.m. on the morning of July 30. Other offenses administered included driving with a suspended license, possessing stolen property and various minor traffic offenses.
Suspicious circumstances surrounding prank calls to young girl's cell phone
6. Federal Way officers interviewed the family of a young girl, who lives on the 34400 block of 15th Place Southwest, regarding a series of unwanted "nasty" phone calls placed to her cell phone over the past week. The report states that an unknown caller had called repeatedly to her cell, using nasty language directed at the daughter. The caller claimed to be the daughter's past "close friend." Neither the family nor the police are able to determine the caller's identity. The phone calls are being made to the cell phone used by the daughter. The family reported the incident to Federal Way police around 9 a.m. on Jully 30. No other information is listed in the report.
Perscription drug fraud investigated at Federal Way Target store
7. Federal Way officers arrived at the scene of a case of possible prescription fraud at the Target store, located at 2201 South Commons. The incident took place around 11:35 a.m. on July 30. Officers were called in while the suspect was at the scene. The suspect was described as a white female in her 30s, wearing a light blue shirt and a white skirt. The suspect also had her five-year-old son with her. The incident involved loss prevention services from Target, as well as the pharmacist and the suspect's physician. 9. The new homeowner of rental unit on the 28800 block of 28th Place South contacted Federal Way police to inform them that he discovered a stripped gray 2006 Honda behind his property. The car was in the backyard after the previous tenants had been evicted. The victim also stated that the area received a lot of foot traffic. The victim told Federal Way police that he purchased the residence with the tenants already inside and never received any lease paperwork. He had no idea how many people resided there, but estimated that the Samoan family was as large as 10 people. The victim did not know how long the vehicle was in the backyard. The incident was reported around 6 p.m. on July 30.
