Do you know a teenager interested in Law Enforcement?
The Explorer program is in association with the Learning for Life Organization and it offers the youth of Federal Way an opportunity to look into the world of law enforcement as a possible career choice.
These young adults are presented with training and exposure to associated law enforcement activities throughout the year.
Explorer scouts are between the ages 15 and 21.
Most are high school students with an interest in Law Enforcement. Many of the local police agencies sponsor Explorer posts.
The program is limited to 20 participants.
All prospective applicants must be of good character with no criminal background.
You must have reliable transportation and be able to volunteer 12 hours a month.
You must have a 2.5 Grade Point Average and attend High School or equivalent program.
The post will send you to a weeklong overnight camp for specific training in Law Enforcement during school vacation.
The post meets at the Federal Way police station on the first and third Mondays of each month at 6 p.m.
