Woman critically injured
in car-pedestrian accident
January 11-An 18-year-old woman was injured in a car-pedestrian accident at about 6:45 a.m. the 17700 block of Ambaum Blvd. S.
She was taken to Harborview Medical Center in critical condition.
It was dark and raining at the time of the collision. The victim was crossing Ambaum eastbound at or in a crosswalk.
However, according to King County Sheriff's spokesman Sgt. John Urquhart, witnesses said the pedestrian was crossing against a red light. She was also wearing all dark clothing.
The vehicle involved was a 2004 Honda Civic, driven by a 58-year-old man from University Place.
Urquhart said there was no indication of drugs, alcohol, or speed as contributing factors in the accident.
The accident was still under investigation last weekend.
Tukwila
January 11-Tukwila police asked for the public's help in finding Gonzalo Merchant Sepulveda, who is wanted for the Dec. 14 shooting of his girlfriend.
The woman, who was shot in the head in front of her two young children, suffered serious injuries but survived.
Police said they have probable cause to arrest Sepulveda for attempted first-degree murder. He is considered armed and dangerous.
Sepulveda has ties in the Puget Sound area, Southern California and Mexico. He is described as Hispanic, age 24, 5-11, 195 pounds, with short hair.
