Men and women will compete on June 7 in Des Moines to prove they are the strongest in _the state.

The competition will take place at the Des Moines Marina parking lot, 22307 Dock Ave., beginning at 10 a.m.

This North American Strongman, Inc. sanctioned contest will feature events like the Farmer's Walk, Apollon Axle Dead Lift, Tire Flip and Keg Loading. Men and women will compete in weight classes, including women's 142 pounds and under or 141 pounds and over; and the men's _175, 200, 231, 265 and 300 pound weight classes.

The top two winners in each weight class will go on to national competition.
