Enrollment remains open in Seattle Public Schools for the 2008-09 school year, which began on Sept. 3.
Families which have not yet registered and enrolled students for school this fall are encouraged to do so prior to the first day of school. Students who begin school on time are more likely to be successful throughout the year.
Families are welcome to register and apply for school for children entering kindergarten; for students advancing from elementary to middle school or from middle school to high school; for any students who wish to change schools; and for students who will be new to the district for the upcoming school year.
Enrollment Services are now centralized at Seattle Public Schools headquarters. All families enrolling students for the 2008-09 school year need to visit or contact Enrollment Services at John Stanford Center, located at 2445 Third Avenue South (3rd and Lander), 252.0760.
The Bilingual Family Center at Aki Kurose Middle School is open for families needing assistance in a language other than English. Aki Kurose is located at: 3928 S. Graham St. (Room 104), 252.7750.
Both locations are open 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Extended hours until 8 p.m. are in effect Thurs., August 28, Fri., August 29 and Tues., Sept. 2.

To be eligible for kindergarten for the 2008-09 school year, children must be 5 years of age by August 31, 2008.
Documents required for new students include: proof of the child's birth date (through Grade 1), photo I.D. of the parent/guardian, two additional documents for proof of address, and immunization records. An application form, registration form and a Certificate of Immunization Status (CIS) form are also required.
Current students wishing to change schools must submit a School Application form. If the student's address has changed, a registration form and two address validation documents are also required.
