A bicyclist passed another down on Alki Avenue, but the "passee" was startled, lost control of her bike, and crashed into a nearby parked vehicle. She landed on its rear window and shattered it. The passer told officers that he had yelled ?on your left? at least twice, to indicate that he was passing, but that his fellow cyclist apparently didn't hear him, likely because she was riding while wearing headphones.
Ongoing problems between rival gangs led to large police response at Sealth High School around noon on Tuesday the 30th, with some reports of a gun being involved. Fifteen suspects refused to obey officer orders to show hands and get on their knees. Eventually all were searched and several, according to the police report, were armed with "cutting instruments" of various types. Only some of those involved were actually students at the school. One suspect was arrested and released to his youth counselor. Others were transported to the SW Precinct and released to parents or guardians.
On Monday the 29th, near 45th and Kilbourne Ct. SW, two men assaulted a third and left him lying on the ground. While the victim was being treated by medics, officers discovered that he was wanted on an Everett felony warrant. He was taken to Harborview for treatment but told to turn himself in upon his release. He likely will, if only to retrieve his belongings?including $5,200 in cash?that the officers placed into evidence.

In the Admiral area, a domestic argument turned violent: a man grabbed a kitchen knife, threw his wife on a sofa, and began cutting the jeans off her legs. He then cut up her shoes, backpack, and purse and broke her cell phone in half before fleeing. The husband returned while officers were on scene, and he was booked into King County Jail for investigation of domestic violence assault.
