Reuven Carlyle apparently does not believe in our states new "top two" primary law.
The "top two" primary approved by Washington State voters states the two candidates with the greatest numbers of votes will run in the General Election. Mr. Carlyle stated his opponent should step down thereby allowing only his name on the General Election ballot ("Carlyle says he is the big winner in the primary," News-Tribune, Oct. 8).
Mr. Carlyle fails to mention that John Burbank, in addition to the 36th District Democrats endorsement, received the sole endorsement of the King County Democrats and was nominated by the Washington State Democrats; groups that support candidates representing real democratic values in a race.
Peter House, chair of the 36th District Democrats, has been falsely accused of "packing the endorsement meeting." I see this as a sour grapes, poor loser tactic by Mr. Carlyle.
In his letter to the editor ("Thanks for voter's support," Oct. 8), Mr. Carlyle states our health-care system rewards subspecialty care instead of stronger relationship with primary care physicians. He fails to mention that his wife is a primary care physician. My life was saved by a physician who has subspecialty care training.
