(Editor's Note: This was a letter addressed to Mayor Greg Nickels, with a copy to this newspaper.)
Mayor Greg Nickels,
You wanted all those schools rebuilt and parks we didn't need. I believe you have defaulted on your spending. Now you want to close all those schools and parks we can't afford to maintain. You plant trees in parking strips when we don't have enough parking. You send trucks with two men at least two times to water and feed. Homeowners could do this job. But what's the difference if you pay two people to a truck? And gas to run the trucks gas cheap? Now that is not saving. You are a big spender of tax dollars and it has to stop.
Now you want us to pay more to re-flush when we have been using less water to help the city. We have been raised so many times already and I see no improvement in cleanup on care. We have to support your exciting expenditures. Find the money you already have in the budget. Take a bus to work and to the meetings, it will do the staff good too. We would all like to have an aid to drive us around. Cut the staff and get more organized on what is happening. You already gave on signed away Eastlake, I don't see any homes for the poor people there.
What else are you going to take away from us?
You are right up there with President Bush. Your champagne diet has to go, we can only afford beans! Think about that when you are eating that pizza.
