This year has definitely been hard for the Beavers.
These are a great bunch of players with a lot of talent. There are so many outstanding players on this team who were sidelined because they weren't seniors. Bowers is a senior first type of coach.
I was shocked to learn that a good part of the starters were inexperienced and even first year players. While those players had a lot of natural talent and can become great players, it doesn't happen overnight. I expected a coach as experienced as Bowers to know that, I guess not.
We started this season with about 70 players now we have about 30. I watched a practice the third week of October, the amount of profanity the coach was using while talking to the players was appalling. I don't know how the players can stand that amount of disrespect. The conflict between Bowers and the players has been unbelievable.
I can't believe he isn't taking blame for losing more than half of his players. From the stands its very clear Bowers doesn't have much parent support, if any. Many parents and players are hoping for a new head coach for next season, let's hope (the) Ballard administration agrees.
