A 27-year-old woman was taken to Harborview after she was found running in the street and falling near the West Seattle Bridge. She wore only pajama bottoms and a tank top and was disoriented. Glassy-eyed, she finally told the officer that she had been detoxing for several days. She vomited all over the patrol car and was later transferred to an ambulance for transport.
An elderly man reported that once again, a young woman he knows had stolen from him. She showed up at his door claiming to need gas money. While he was outside in a shed looking for a gas can, she found his wallet and stole a check for $884 as well as a credit card. When officers asked the man why he continues to let her in his house, he said, "She always has a good story."
As she turned onto SW Thistle, officers caught up to a 55-year-old woman who left an accident scene at 35th and Barton. She stopped her car in the middle of the street and didn't follow commands to move her vehicle to the side of the road. Her airbags had deployed and she was lethargic, but said she had not been drinking. As she was loaded onto a backboard for treatment by medics, she smelled of alcohol, and officers found five travel-sized bottles of booze in the car. One?a bottle of Wild Turkey?was empty.
A random license-plate check proved fruitful for one officer, who discovered that the driver was wanted on a $5,000 warrant. The man was booked into King County Jail.
A woman is apparently unhappy that her ex has gotten together with someone else. She is suspected of using a 10-pound rock to shatter the car windshield of her female "rival." The next day, her ex's car window was damaged as well. The suspect denies these actions, but contacted officers to report that the new girlfriend is calling her 30-40 times a day and harassing her verbally. Officers advised her to get an anti-harassment order against the new girlfriend.
A man with a history of alcohol issues and violence threw his wife?s cell phone across the room as she spoke to a 911 operator. Officers arrived, but he had already left the scene. A records check showed that he was also wanted on a $5,000 assault warrant. The woman was told to call 911 when he returned.
Long-distance fraud: Someone in China made a $1,100 transaction using a local man?s credit union account.
Caught in the act of stealing $150 from a purse in a shopping cart, the suspect was likely startled when the victim yelled and reached into HIS pocket to retrieve her money. The suspect fled the store, but the entire incident was caught on security video tape.
