Several events are happening in Ballard to celebrate the Inauguration of Barack Obama as the 44th President of the United States.

Dante's Inferno Hotdogs will host an Inauguration Day party Jan. 20 from 5 to 10 p.m.at Dante's Warehouse, 1544 N.W. Ballard Way. The party is also to support the Ballard Food Bank, so please bring a non-perishable food item.
The BalMar is also supporting the Ballard Food Bank on Inauguration Day. It will open early at 5 p.m. Jan. 20. At 7:30 upstairs, join in on Obama themed trivia.
Sit in on an Inauguration Jam at Egan's Ballard Jam House from 7 to 9 p.m., $10, 1707 N.W. Market St.
City-wide Events:
The city will host the "Celebration of Hope Inaugural Event" by broadcasting live television coverage on the Center House Stage big-screen from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Jan. 20. Cookies and coffee will be available, and
guests will be offered free souvenir lapel pins. In addition, there will be radio broadcast of the inauguration over the sound system in the International Fountain.

Town Hall Seattle will host a viewing party from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The call to order, invocation and swearing in of Joseph Biden as Vice President will take place between 8:30 and 9 a.m., with the official swearing-in of Obama as President of the United States at 9 a.m., followed by Obama's inaugural address.
Closing remarks will include a poem read by Yale professor Elizabeth Alexander, a benediction from civil-rights leader the Rev. Dr. Joseph E. Lowery, the national anthem performed by the U.S. Navy and parade coverage follow.
