Tinae, Alexander commit
Kennedy Catholic receivers Jabez Tinae and Lanyatta "Junior" Alexander have both signed on to play football in the Pac-12 Conference.
Both rank as four-star athletes.
Tinae joins five-star Kennedy Catholic quarterback Sam Huard as a University of Washington commit, while Alexander is taking his talents to Arizona State University.
Another recruited Lancer receiver, three-star Reed Shumpert, remains to be signed.
The UW already has five-star linebacker Sav'ell Smalls among this past year's graduated recruits from Kennedy Catholic.
Nguyen captures girls crown
Lauryn Nguyen of West Seattle captured first place on the girls side at the Washington Junior Golf Association state championships held at the Manito Golf and Country Club in Spokane.
Nguyen shot a four under par round of 68 on the final day of action and won the title by eight strokes with her 14 under par three day total of 202.
Nguyen also took the title in 2017 playing at Meadow Springs in Richland and was second in the state Class 3A tournament playing for West Seattle High School last spring.
Bwana with Sounders squad
Ballard graduate Handwalla Bwana is a midfielder for the Seattle Sounders of Major League Soccer.
Bwana is originally from Kenya and also played men's soccer at the University of Washington.
Mann pitching in China
Mount Rainier graduate Brandon Mann is now pitching from the left side for the Rakuten Monkeys of the Chinese Professional Baseball League.
Mann played briefly for the Texas Rangers in 2018 and is now 36 years old.
Kela still with Pittsburgh
Chief Sealth graduate Keone Kela is back for another season of action in the Pittsburgh Pirates' bullpen.
The right-handed power pitcher has posted a record of 0-0 in 2020 with an earned run average of 4.50 in two innings of work.
Brigham throws for Miami
Thomas Jefferson graduate Jeff Brigham has a record of 0-0, 9.00 record in one inning of work for the Miami Marlins this year.
Brigham was 3-2, 4.46 for the Marlins with one save in 2019. He is right handed.
Ryan Brett in Sioux Falls
Highline graduate Ryan Brett is playing second base for the Sioux Falls Canaries of the independent American Association.
