King County Executive Race Highlights Girmay Zahilay's Lead In the county-wide race for King County Executive, Girmay Zahilay is currently leading with 40.39% of the vote, having garnered 103,471 ballots.

The race also includes a diverse field of candidates:

• Claudia Balducci received 77,590 votes, or 30.28%.

• Derek Chartrand is at 12.52% with 32,085 votes.

• John Wilson secured 9.33% of the vote (23,897 votes).

• Rebecca Williamson has 2.37% (6,072 votes).

• Amiya Ingram received 1.84% (4,707 votes).

• Bill Hirt also has 1.83% (4,701 votes).

• Don L Rivers is at 1.04% (2,674 votes).

• Write-in candidates account for 0.39% (1,011 votes). A total of 271,720 ballots were counted for this county-wide race.

Metropolitan King County Council Races Unfold Two Metropolitan King County Council districts had contests on the ballot, with varying levels of voter participation and clear frontrunners.

Council District No. 5:

• This district saw 20,558 ballots counted from 138,998 registered voters, representing a turnout of 14.79%.

• Peter Kwon is the top vote-getter with 27.96% (5,422 votes).

• Steffanie Fain is in second place with 24.64% (4,777 votes).

• Kim-Khanh Van received 20.81% (4,035 votes).

• Ryan McIrvin has 12.41% (2,407 votes).

• Angela Henderson received 7.88% (1,528 votes).

• Hugo Garcia leads this race with 43.37% (1,991 votes).

• Jessica Ivey is second with 28.32% (1,300 votes).

• Claudio Fernandez received 20.69% (950 votes).

• Cameron Boosman has 6.99% (321 votes).

• Write-in votes account for 0.63%.

Council Position No. 3:

• Sam Méndez is the top candidate with 45.67% (2,084 votes).

• Marie Barbon received 32.52% (1,484 votes).

• Rashell Lisowski is at 21.13% (964 votes).

• Write-in votes were 0.68%.

Council Position No. 5:

• Sarah Moore holds a substantial lead with 60.76% (2,782 votes).
