Mount Rainier did have the pleasure of qualifying for the state Class 4A volleyball tournament, and of taking a trip to Yakima to play in it.

But it was a short stay for the Rams once they got to the Yakima Valley Sundome.

They opened with a 3-1 Friday morning loss to Gonzaga Prep of Spokane before being eliminated by Kamiakin that afternoon, 3-0.
