The Northwest Seaport Alliance (NWSA), covering the ports of Seattle and Tacoma, released its Weekly Volumes & Metrics Report today, detailing operational data up through the week ending November 14th. The report highlights a sustained decline in container vessel voyages across 2025 compared to the previous year.
Data compiled in the report shows that the number of voyages has decreased month-over-month throughout 2025 when measured against 2024 figures.

The largest year-over-year decline occurred in June, which saw 65 voyages in 2024 compared to 55 voyages in 2025. Looking at the most recent monthly data for November, the NWSA reported 45 voyages across four weeks in 2025, down from 50 voyages during the equivalent four-week period in 2024.
Recent Weekly Vessel Activity
The NWSA report also provided a breakdown of vessel calls for the most recent weeks reported:
• For the week ending November 7th, there were 11 voyages, including one void and two delays.
• For the week ending November 14th, there were 13 voyages, including two voids and zero delays.
• The overall trend for the first two weeks covered in the report (November 7th and November 14th) indicated that both were down compared to the November 2024 weekly average.
Broader Metrics Show Decline vs. 2024 Averages
While the weekly figures for international imports and vessel lifts saw sequential improvement from the week ending November 7th to the week ending November 14th, key operational metrics remain down when compared to November 2024 weekly averages.
For the week ending November 14th:
• International Import Containers totaled 13,190. Although imports were up 13.3% from the prior week, this volume was still down 3.9% compared to the November 2024 weekly average of 13,721 containers.
• Weekly International Vessel Lifts (containers on/off a vessel) reached 27,469. This was a 9.3% increase from the week before, but it marked a 13.9% decline compared to the November 2024 weekly average of 31,900.
• Weekly Truck Transactions (containers in/out of terminal via truck) dropped to 22,104. This figure was down 12.2% compared to the week before and showed a substantial 16.6% decrease compared to the November 2024 weekly average of 26,514.
Kate Nolan, Manager of Communication & Outreach for The Northwest Seaport Alliance, released the weekly volumes and metrics report dated November 26, 2025. The report noted that the next publication would cover the weeks ending November 21st and November 28th to accommodate the holiday schedule, after which reporting will resume its usual cadence.
