Boys basketball

Foster 72, Bainbridge 48

Foster came into Saturday's Class 2A state regional playoff at the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma as the No. 15 seeded team and Bainbridge as the No. 10, but the Bulldogs of Tukwila dominated the action.

Now they advance to play No. 7 Chiawana in a 5:30 p.m. Wednesday loser-out state opener at the Yakima Valley Sun Dome.

Girls basketball

Kennedy Catholic 61, Redmond 50

Kennedy Catholic battled Redmond in a state regional Saturday at Auburn High School and prevailed.

The Lancers entered as the No. 12 seeded Class 4A team in the state and Redmond as the No. 14.

They advance to take on No. 7 Grandview in a loser-out state opener at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the Tacoma Dome.
