A dense lineup of high school, collegiate, and professional action is happening in late April and extending through the first week of May. High school programs are in the midst of their spring seasons, with a heavy concentration of baseball, fastpitch softball, and boys soccer matches scheduled at various local fields. Key events include baseball matchups between local rivals like Bellevue and Mt. Rainier, as well as a busy Friday night of soccer featuring teams like O'Dea and Ballard.
In the professional sports arena, the Seattle Mariners are set for a lengthy stay at home, hosting back-to-back series against the Kansas City Royals and the Atlanta Braves. Local fans also have the opportunity to catch the Tacoma Rainiers in action at home against Las Vegas before the team travels to El Paso. While the Mariners and Rainiers play locally, Seattle's other major pro teams—including the Sounders, Reign, and Seawolves—will all be competing in away matches during this window.
Collegiate athletics are also highlighted by several major events, most notably the Husky football Spring Game on May 1st. The University of Washington baseball team will host a home series against Oregon, while the Washington State Cougars will be at home facing Fresno State. Additionally, the Husky fastpitch softball team will be traveling to face Ohio State for a three-game series.
