Cassidy Armstrong of Ballard captured first place in the girls state Class 3A 3,200-meter race, finishing in a time of 10 minutes, 13.69 seconds.
The 3A meet was held along with the 2A and 4A competitions Thursday through Saturday at Mount Tahoma High School in Tacoma and Armstrong was the only area athlete to stand on top of the awards stand.
Giana Johnson of the Beavers came in third in the girls 400-meter dash in 55.76 and Ballard took fourth in the girls 4X200 relay in 1:42.80 with West Seattle fourth in the boys 4X400 relay in 3:21.60.
Layaeh Hampton of Mount Rainier finished fourth in the 4A girls triple jump at 36-feet, 0.75 inches and the Rams' Donovan Redmond-Wallace tied for fifth in the boys high jump at 6-3.
Foster's Queen-Bettina Tavai-Fa'ataualofa placed sixth in the 2A girls shot put at 36-7.5 and West Seattle's Osayoshoghome Ashlaybera was eighth in the 3A boys high jump at 6-0.
Nini Nguyen of Foster came in eighth in the 2A girls pole vault at 9-0.
Kennedy Catholic snagged seventh in the 4A girls 4X100 relay in 48.77.
