UPDATE 1:50pm

The King County Sheriff's office (KCSO) offered an update on the motor vehicle incident indicating that the motorcyclist was still alive at last report. Other witnesses including the driver of a King County Metro bus have contacted WestsideSeattle to note that they saw the motorcyclist attempt to pass the bus at higher speed when he collided with the car. 

Statement from KCSO:

"The KCSO MARR Unit investigation is still open and active. MARR is our Major Accident Response and Reconstruction Unit. Early indication does indeed suggest unsafe riding and/or excessive speed by the motorcyclist. A final and thorough report will take some time to complete. The KCSO case number is C26027138. 

     A KCSO deputy routinely follows serious injury accident victims to a medical facility to continue the investigation and collect evidence. In this case, the motorcycle rider was still being cared for by medical staff as our deputy completed their work and left the hospital. I am unaware of the current medical status of this individual. Our MARR Unit detectives will monitor that aspect of the case as part of the overall investigation.

Original Post 7:30pm Friday

A motorcyclist and car collided in White Center around 6:20pm on Friday Sept. 25.

The driver of the car was uninjured but the motorcyclist was reported to not be breathing shortly after the collision. He was taken to Harborview Medical Center in unknown condition.

The incident drew response from the King County Sheriff and Burien Police.

The King County Sheriff’s Office blocked off the scene directly outside the White Center Eagles Club (located at 10430 15th Ave SW) to investigate the high-impact crash.

The Nissan Sentra  suffered severe front-end damage.
