Marjorie Jane (Wilson) BERGE 1929-2013

Our dearest mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend went home to be with her Lord August 8, 2013, at the age of 83.

Marjorie was born November 23, 1929 in Liberal, Kansas. She and her brother Bill, three years older, were raised by their loving and hardworking mother, Goldie, and by their maternal grandparents, John and Mary McClure. During the late 1930’s, Goldie, her two young children, and her parents left Kansas for Oregon with all their belongings.

Marjorie married Glenn Berge, the love of her life, in September 1946. In 1957 they purchased their family home overlooking Puget Sound, near Alki Beach, where they resided for 46 years and raised their family. Marjorie was a wonderful wife and mother, very loving and always giving utmost priority to caring for her family. While Marjorie’s first career was that of homemaker, she also worked as a sales associate in misses dresses at the downtown Bon Marche, retiring in 1989.

In December of 2003, Glenn and Marjorie moved from their family home to Judson Park Retirement Community, a wonderful decision. They embraced activities there and enjoyed many friendships and the caring support of staff. Glenn went home to be with his Lord in 2006 after enjoying 59 years of marriage.
Marjorie is survived by her children, Virginia Moor and Marilynn Jovanovich; grandchildren, Carrie (Paul) Gustafson, Jon (Jamaica) Moor, Ben (Alissa) Moor, Megan (Nathan) Schlaud, and Peter Jovanovich; great-grandchildren, Andrew, David and Lindsay Gustafson, Elijah Moor, David and Penelope Moor, and McKenzie-Rae Schlaud. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Berge, and son-in-law, David Moor.

Our dearly loved Marjorie will be held close in our hearts and remembered for her encouraging support of each family member, and her love for Jesus Christ, her Savior and Lord.

A memorial service celebrating her life will be held Monday, August 26, 6:30 p.m., at Grace Baptist Church, 10323 28th Ave. S.W., Seattle, WA. Guestbook: www.mountainviewtacoma.com
