Mary Elizabeth (Feser) Clement
Mary Clement was born August 30, 1940 in Yakima, Washington, to Lawrence and Elizabeth Feser. She spent most of her childhood living with her parents at her uncle’s fruit orchard. There she learned to play the piano, to paint, and to draw; passions that she carried with her all of her life.
While in high school, Mary met her husband-to-be, Rodger Clement. After graduating from St. Joseph Academy, she completed her certification as a practical nurse. Mary and Rodger were married September 5, 1959 and soon moved to Seattle.
In addition to being a loving wife and mother of two children, Diane and Michael, Mary worked as a practical nurse, an office assistant, and a teacher’s assistant at Our Lady of Guadalupe grade school.
After Mary and Rodger both retired, they enjoyed traveling together. Most recently, Mary was able to visit Switzerland, one of the countries from where her family came. She also re-enlivened her love of art, painting watercolors and drawing with colored pencils.
Mary battled cancer for two years. On February 1, 2013, she passed away peacefully at home in the company of family members.
Mary is survived by her husband, Rodger; her brother, Albert Feser; and her two children, Diane Levang (Marcus) and Michael Clement.
