Mary Madeline (Dempsey) EVANS 1925-2013

Mary Evans, 88, lovingly known as "Maddy," of Bothell, WA, passed away Sunday, December 8, 2013 at her residence. She was born August 18, 1925, the daughter of the late Francis Jack and Anne Louise (Pribbeno) Dempsey. She married Charles A. Evans Jr. August 13, 1946 and they celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary in 2006. Mary was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Brendan Catholic Church.

Earlier in her life, she taught CCD and tap dancing to children at Holy Family Parish in Seattle and was also a Campfire leader. She enjoyed tap and jazz dancing with the “Senior Struts”, playing piano, singing and karaoke. Mary was a wonderful cook, a loving wife and mother and loved spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by four daughters, Taya Marie Roberts and husband John, Mary Ann Cross and husband Ken, Patricia Evans and Theresa Evans Chambers; three sons, Charles A. Evans III, Frank Evans and wife Cindy and Edward Evans and wife Tracy; twelve grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. Maddy was predeceased by her husband, Charles; a sister, Patricia Glover, and three brothers, Robert, Gene and Sonny Dempsey.
A celebration of Maddy’s life and a Rosary were held at St. Brendan Catholic Church December 21st. Inurnment will be at a later date at Tahoma National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to: www.sightconnection.org.
