Marie M. Loken 1922 ~ 2016

Marie M. Loken passed away on March 26, 2016. She was born on August 22, 1922 to Charles and Marie McIntosh. She attended Catholic school where she learned how to play the piano and would accompany the choir. She met Roger, her husband of 69 years, at a Catholic school dance. She accompanied Roger to Kettle Falls, WA, where he taught at the high school, and eventually became principal and built a house.

They moved to Seattle a few years later. She worked at Sears & Roebuck for a total of 11 years before and after she was married where she worked in the print shop on the printing machines. The family were members of Holy Rosary Church in West Seattle. Marie loved to play the piano, garden, read and watch TV.

Marie was preceded in death by her husband Roger and by her sister, Grace. She is survived by her sister, Jean, and Marie and Roger’s six children, David Loken of Everett, WA, Joan Perryman of New Mexico, Catherine Hunter, of Des Moines, WA, Robert Loken of Seattle, WA, Roberta Jackowski of Seattle, WA and Karen Coffey, of Oregon and ten grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, countless nieces and nephews and preceded in death by her grandchild, Mac Branom, Karen’s son.

Mass for Marie was held on April 7, 2016 at Mount St. Vincent Chapel in West Seattle.
