Matador, Pesos reach settlement

The popular Tex-Mex restaurant chain Matador will be required to make minor changes in compliance with a settlement drawn up on Oct. 21 between the restaurants' founders and Brian Hutmacher, owner of Pesos Kitchen in Queen Anne.

Daniel Woo, attorney for Peso's, said the Matador location in Ballard will be required to change their wall treatments and the design of their tabletops.

November 8 - Green Seattle Day at Camp Long and other Seattle Parks

This is the third annual GREEN SEATTLE DAY. Come out and join more than 600 volunteers for a fun day of planting to restore Seattle's forested parklands! Seattle residents will be volunteering at one of 19 parks across the city, including Camp Long.

Celebrate the beginning of planting season by volunteering and having some fun with friends and neighbors.

Updated--Highline school-construction bond request delayed

Additional new Highline schools beyond ones already planned have been delayed because of the current economic downturn.

Assistant Highline schools superintendent Geri Fain told board members on Oct. 22 that district staff is recommending that board members postpone placing a construction bond and transportation levy on the ballot.

Plans were underway to put a school construction bond on the March ballot. Fain told board members the proposed measure should be delayed until March 2010.

Brandi is a cattle dog
