Vote yes on Proposition 1

On Nov. 4 our region will have the chance to Vote Yes for Mass Transit Now, which will provide real solutions to high gas prices, gridlock and global warming. We are enthusiastic supporters of Proposition 1, which will provide short-term solutions through increasing express bus service while preparing for the future by extending our investment in light rail.

This regional network will be able to carry more than 1 million passengers each day, and the package will save the region an estimated $41 million in fuel every year.

Bret "The Hitman" Hart visits Southcenter

Former professional wrestler, movie star, and author, Bret "The Hitman" Hart stopped into Borders at Southcenter Mall Sunday to sign copies of his new autobiography "Hitman: My Real Life in the Cartoon World of Wrestling."

This stop kicked off his 29-city, month-and-a-half tour to conclude in Birmingham, England. Fans arrived three hours early to be in front of the line to have Hart's signature and a photo taken with him. Most waited patiently with book in hand, a thick tome wrapped in an attention-getting hot-pink dust jacket.

Op-Ed - Is there something we can say besides good-bye?

There is a common concern in Burien these days, and well?.someone has to tell it.

It is a real estate agent and landlord's dream, and a renter's worst nightmare. Rent just went up?way up. Guess why. The common phrase landlords are using these days to rent their units is, "it's within walking distance of the new Town Square." Any rental within a few blocks of the construction is now hot property. It has become a reason to raise affordable rents and it is a strong selling point. Renters in Burien are not taking this lightly.
