Seattle police are investigating a late‑night shooting along the north end of Alki Avenue Southwest after more than 70 rounds were fired, damaging nearby homes and property.
The gunfire erupted overnight Friday, prompting multiple 911 calls from residents who reported two individuals shooting at each other near the waterfront’s northernmost point. When officers arrived, they recovered over 70 shell casings scattered across the area, along with a spring believed to be from an extended‑capacity magazine.
A window at a nearby condominium complex was shattered by gunfire, but no injuries were reported. Police have not released information about suspects, and the investigation remains ongoing.

The Spokane St Swing Bridge, commonly known as the West Seattle low bridge, will undergo a full closure to car traffic this weekend to address ongoing mechanical issues.
The Closure Details
Starting Saturday, August 22, at 7:00 AM, the low bridge will be closed to all motor vehicles. The closure is expected to last until Monday, August 24, at 4:00 AM.
While motorists will need to find alternative routes, people biking and walking will still be permitted to cross the bridge's 12-foot pedestrian and bicycle path during the maintenance window. However, travelers should expect possible delays due to bridge openings for boat passage and active maintenance testing.
Why Is the Bridge Closing?
The Admiral Neighborhood Association happening this weekend, has announced that this year's Admiral Block Party will be "bigger than ever," featuring an expanded festival area and two full days of live entertainment. Located in the 2300 block of California Ave SW, the event will see California Ave closed from Admiral Way to College, and College closed from California Ave to 42nd Ave to provide more space for vendors, food, and activities.
A new voluntary program is giving Seattle business owners the choice to integrate their private security systems directly with local law enforcement to boost neighborhood safety.
The initiative, known as the Connect Seattle Camera Integration program, allows participating businesses to share exterior security camera feeds with the Seattle Police Department (SPD). Unlike mandatory surveillance measures, this program is entirely opt-in, putting control of the data directly in the hands of local business owners.
Under the program's guidelines, business owners retain full authority over their participation. They can choose to share all of their camera feeds or only selected ones, establishing their own preferences for what law enforcement can access.
How the Integration Works
A male was shot in the stomach near Roxhill Park on 29th SW on Wednesday. Seattle Police say the shooter is still at large. He reportedly 40 years old.
The victim was taken Harborview in serious condition.
The shooting is under investigatoin.
A structure fire broke out at Waste Management at 7201 West Marginal Way SW with the 911 call going out at 1:45pm. It was located near the rear of the property with white smoke caused by an electrical problem tied to a vacant warehouse.
No one was hurt.
It drew a 24 unit response and the fire was quickly brought under control.
On Tuesday, August 18th just after 10pm, King County Sheriff's deputies responded to reports of a robbery in progress in the 10000 block of 116th Avenue SW at a Smoke and Vape shop.
The reporting party said he two people had robbed him and assaulted him by hitting him on the head with a gun; he was eventually taken to the hospital to have his injuries treated.
