7:30 The Future of Metro Transit Service in NW Seattle by Ashley DeForest, Community Relations Planner, King County DOT.
In early 2013, King County will initiate service on the “D Line” (Rapid Ride service to Ballard on the 15th Avenue corridor). As a result, Metro Transit expects a number of modifications to existing transit service in the Ballard area. We can also expect to see changes in our Metro Transit services resulting from the County’s “Congestion Reduction” initiative.
7:50 Improving Water Quality in Salmon Bay, Shilshole Bay & Adjoining Areas in Puget Sound by Andrew Lee of Seattle Public Utilities, and Liz Tennant of Ballard CSO Workgroup
Lee and Tennant will provide an overview of sewage overflow facilities in Ballard which are under the jurisdiction of both Seattle Public Utilities and King County. We’ll discuss opportunities to get involved in addressing these concerns through a process of scoping issues and remedies in a formal environmental impact statement.
8:05 Upcoming November 8 General Election by Republican Kirk Robbins, Democrat Peter House, and Green Jody Grage.
A panel of reps from our three political party organizations in the 36th District will present their organization’s endorsements, recommendations, and points of view. Members of the panel will also provide information and their organization’s perspective on the Legislative Redistricting process and how our local political landscape might be affected.
