An attempted robbery involving six youths occurred at 14th Ave. N.W. and N.W. 53rd St. on Nov. 6. The victim said that he got off the bus at 15th Ave. and walked to 14th Ave. to go north. As he was walking he noticed a group of young males watching him. He saw two young white males in a parking lot join with the other group. He reported that he had a “bad feeling” about them. He kept walking and was listening to music using ear buds. Suddenly someone spun him around by pulling on the backpack he was wearing. The five suspects were in front of them. They were wearing beanies with holes cut for their eyes. One of them pointed a gun at the victim and said, “Give me everything you got.” The victim said he did not want to get shot and pushed the gun out of the suspect’s hands. It fell to the ground. Then the victim ran and cut across a few yards because he feared that the suspects would follow him home. As he ran he heard the suspects yelling “Eh! Eh! Eh!” When he got home his mother called police. SPD scoured the area but did not find the suspects.
Intoxicated man threatens to shoot store employees
Police are looking for a man who threatened to kill employees at a store located on the 900 block of N.W. 45th St. on Nov. 3. The complainants called 911 after the suspect told them he planned to come back to the store and shoot them as the store closed at 11 p.m. The suspect had been asked to leave by the manager after he appeared intoxicated. The suspect responded by saying, “I will come back and kill you with a gun at the back doors you fat [obscenity]!" Later the suspect returned to the store and asked for the bag he had collected store merchandise in earlier. The manager told the man that he had not paid for the items and needed to leave. The suspect yelled slurs at the manager and said he would come back to shoot him. Then the suspect left the store and encountered two employees in the back where they were taking a break. The suspect said he would come back and “get them” at 11 p.m. A customer recorded part of the incident and submitted the video to police. Police compared the video to mug shots and believe they know who the suspect is. They searched the area but did not find him. The suspect was described as being white, around age 40, thin build with a goatee.
