Grocery store robbery
Officers received a call around 3:50 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 14, reporting a man shoplifting beer from a grocery store located in the 5400 block of 15 Ave NW. The caller said that he was working inside the store, stocking the shelves, when he saw the man carrying an 18-pack of Budweiser. The suspect never stopped to pay for the beer, and the victim told him to bring it back. The suspect ignored him and kept walking. The employee followed the man out of the store. At one point, the suspect turned around, implied he had a knife and threatened the employee, lunging towards him. The victim backed up and the suspect made his getaway.
Shoplifter on NW Market St
A caller reported a shoplifter around 2:40 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 10. When officers arrived in the 1400 block of NW Market St, the complainant said that an unknown man entered the building with a woman and tried to walk out with a speaker without paying. The victim confronted the man, who replied with an aggressive threat. The victim said that the man was intoxicated. The two suspects left the area by foot. Officers checked the area for the couple but were not able to locate them.
Construction site burglarized
A construction site located in the 7500 block of 15 Ave NW was burglarized. Two plywood doors were damaged by suspects, but nothing was stolen. No video surveillance was available. The crime was reported around 7:30 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 14.
Security cameras capture footage of theft
A man called police around 9:20 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 13 to report a burglary to the business where he works, which is located in the 4700 block of Ballard Ave NW. The caller had video surveillance of the crime and showed officers footage of the suspect picking the lock of the door, then walking up the stairs and stealing items. The suspect wore gloves the entire time. Screen shots from the video were uploaded into evidence.
Business reports sixth burglary
Officers received a call from a small business, located in the 100 block of NW 85 St, around 8 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 11, reporting a burglary the night before. A window was broken. Stolen items include a computer hard drive and a key cutting machine. The security cameras inside the business were not working. The wires to the cameras had been cut during a prior burglary. This was the sixth time the business had been burglarized.
