Boulevard Park was rockin' on Aug 7 as the first Boulevard Park Block Party took place just outside the Flightpath Tavern on South 120th. The event featured shopping, food, music a bicycle rodeo and even a film festival put on by Discover Burien.
The idea of Flightpath (and Peel n Press in West Seattle) owner Dan Austin the event was staged on 120th itself and in the parking lot for the tavern. The stage and event staging were provided by Oliver Little and Monumental Undertaking, who have been responsible for the West Seattle Summerfest and White Center Jubilee Days in past years.
"I just really wanted to bring more attention to this neighborhood," said Austin, "So we have a diversity of vendors, musical acts and we really appreciate the chance to work with Discover Burien."
The event was well attended with easily more than 3000 people attending at least part of the festivities.
The show was topped off by local favorites The Dusty 45's who did a raucous set of tunes, driven by lead singer Billy Joe Huels.
