In the central courtyard, a stormwater swale curves through the heart of the new Evergreen campus like a natural stream — bridges included. Hundreds of plants are getting added to the landscaping. It's looking very... green! 

The wood shop is stocked with lathes, routers and other tools. The culinary arts classroom features stainless steel hoods, cooktops and a large commercial refrigerator. The audio-visual design studio is looking professional, with a corner glass window and a green screen room.

The performance space is getting paneling and finish details. With privacy curtains, mirrors and bathrooms, the costume change and make-up room looks ready for its debut.

Earthwork with heavy equipment continues in the new main entrance area around the east and south edges of the existing school buildings. Construction crews have installed the base for a new Evergreen High School sign near the street, in the southeast corner of the existing staff parking lot, along with bases for light poles.

The six new tennis courts received a base layer of steaming hot asphalt last week.

Crews are focused on finish details throughout the new facility.

Last week, district technicians received training on the building HVAC system while the vendor was in town. Further systems training will occur this summer.

ON TIME, ON SCHEDULE

The Evergreen High School replacement project, funded with the voter-approved 2022 bond, is on schedule to open school in September, and within budget.
