In South Park, a sharp-eyed officer recognized the man driving down the road and knew that he had a suspended license and was wanted on several warrants. When he stopped the vehicle (likely stolen—it had a punched ignition), the officer also discovered stolen goods, including tools, a large amount of copper wire, and various items marked with other people's names. Back at the precinct, the suspect repeatedly lied about his identity—at least until the savvy officer handed him a previous booking photo and said, “Try again.” He was booked into King County Jail on the existing warrants (no-bail felony escape, $7,500 violation of a protection order, $2,000 criminal trespass) and for investigation of driving with a suspended license and false reporting.
On 8th Southwest, burglars broke into two homes, smashed TV screens, stole electronic items and, in one house, tried to ignite a toy in a parrot cage. (No injuries to the bird were reported.) The suspect(s) also opted to snack their way through the neighborhood: In one of the homes, beer and soda seemed to have been deliberately dumped in various places (including on a bedspread), while in the other home the treat of choice was a small container of pudding.
On Monday afternoon, officers found two shoplifting suspects and a variety of stolen merchandise in a car parked in the 6300 block of 42nd Southwest. The man had a $10,000 felony warrant for first-degree burglary and domestic violence and a $5,000 felony warrant for dangerous drugs. His female companion was wanted on an escape warrant. The two were also carrying drug paraphernalia and heroin, rock cocaine, and powder cocaine. Both were booked into King County Jail.
