February 21, 1931 ~ August 5, 2012

Thomas Albus, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, 81, formerly of Sublimity, Oregon and Seattle, Washington and most recently resided in Port Ludlow, Washington, passed away August 5, 2012 of Lung and Brain Cancer. A Funeral Mass was held August 11, 2012 at St. Olaf’s Catholic Church, 18943 Caldart Ave. NE, Poulsbo, WA 98370.

Tom was called into the Army in May of 1951 where he spent two years. He was released from the service in May of 1953 and the following year entered Oregon State U on the G.I. Bill. Feeling he needed to make a living, he was hired by the Union Pacific R.R. in Train Services in Seattle, WA where he retired in 1994. In 1967, he married Phyllis Vanderslice of West Seattle and together they raised two daughters, Susan and Kristin. Tom and Phyllis lived in West Seattle until 2001 when they relocated to Port Ludlow.

Tom enjoyed traveling, reading, fishing, and working in his yard. He especially enjoyed his friends in his Hiking Group in Port Ludlow. He also loved spending time with his family and friends. Tom was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed as well as volunteering at Church in several capacities.
Tom is survived by his wife, Phyllis; daughters, Sue (Ted) Fletcher and Kris (Jeff) Shea; grandchildren, Joshua (Carrie) Simpson, Terra (Josh) Loree, Danny Fletcher, Eric Shea, Tommy Fletcher and Luke Shea; great grandchildren, Hailee Simpson and Emma Loree; sister, Rosemary (Bob) Wolf; brother, Ed (Marge) Albus; and numerous nieces and nephews.
