Frances Rose (Renggli) HANSEN 1926-2012

April 30, 1926 ~ August 21, 2012
Frances passed from this life after a gradual decline in health due to a recent stroke and a congestive heart condition. She was the daughter of Frank and Monica Renggli and the youngest of six children. Frances was trained as a registered nurse and began her career in the Obstetrics department of St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tacoma. After a 25-year hiatus to raise her family, she returned to Geriatric nursing at the Kenney Retirement Home in West Seattle.

She met her husband, Edward, at the boarding house where they both lived, while she was working at The Marine Hospital, and he was employed at The US Post Office. They were married February 7, 1953 at Holy Rosary Church in West Seattle. Her main ministry in life was to her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.

She is survived by her 8 children, Helen Streib, John Hansen, Mary Welch, Christine (Terry) Kolbet, Charles (Laureen) Hansen, David (Jennifer) Hansen, Phillip Hansen, and Monica Hansen; 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She and Edward celebrated 50 years of marriage before he preceded her in death.

She was a woman strong in her faith, which influenced every facet of her life. She was active in her local parish, Holy Rosary, as a Eucharistic minister to the homebound and part of a weekly prayer group for many decades.

Frances will be dearly missed by her family and friends. However, we rejoice in certain knowledge that she is now with her Lord in Heaven.
