Geraldine Mae (Wiggins) RICE 1919-2012

Born September 21, 1919, Omaha, NE, Geraldine passed away peacefully at home November 8, 2012. As the brick at the Alki Statue of Liberty says, “Ralph and Jerry, Carol, Gary, and Steve landed Alki 1955.” Ralph of Topeka and Jerry of Lawrence, Kansas, brought their 3 kids to Alki to be a Boeing family.

She made a wonderful home for the family at that old white house on 60th, where they all enjoyed many good friends and good times in the Alki neighborhood.

Jerry worked as church secretary at Alki Congregational Church for many years, where she was later a member of the Mayflower Circle. She retired from the Home Insurance Company to enjoy her many hobbies of cooking, reading, sewing, traveling, playing bridge, writing, and adding to her many collections.

Jerry is survived by daughter Carol Fullagar of Camano Island, sons, Gary of the family home, who enabled her to stay at home, and Steve (Laurie) of Bellevue, and granddaughter, Jill Gable (Scott) of Ballard.
