West Seattle skiers Oli Moseley, Corey Nugent and Zachary Moseley each made the podium in the Pacific Northwest Regional Freeskiing Championships which wrapped up April 21-22
The Crystal Triple Crown, a series of big mountain freeskiing events, was held over the last two months on multiple venues at the Crystal Mountain ski resort.
Riders from across the region including Oregon, Washington and Canada participated in the events. Each contest consisted of one day competitions, and athletes skied technical big mountain runs and were scored based on the International Freeskiing Association (IFSA) judging criteria. Results were based on the best 2 out of 3 scores over the three events, and points go toward IFSA International rankings.
Oli Moseley (12, Holy Rosary School) took first place in the girls 12-14 category. Corey Nugent (16, Chief Sealth High School) took 3rd place in the boys 15-18 category. Zachary Moseley (14, Holy Rosary School) tied for 3rd in the boys 12-14 category. Corey also scored a 1st place and a 'money line' award for the most technical line in one of the events. Each of these big mountain athletes ski for the Northwest Freeride Programs (www.nwfreeride.net) and ski on the international Junior Freeskiing Tour.
