Crews completed the new 84-inch siphon pipe under Salmon Bay between the Ballard and Interbay areas of Seattle and have begun work to re-line the twin 36-inch wood siphons that have served the area for over 80 years.

To prepare for re-lining the existing siphons, crews will clean the existing siphons from the construction area in the Salmon Bay Marine Center the week of Feb. 4 (see first map below). Near neighbors may experience possible odors during this work.

Crews will also begin restoring the right-of-way on the south side of West Commodore Way in front of the project site (see second map below). There will be no parking in this area for up to one month while crews complete the restoration work.

What to Expect at the South Site:

· Possible odors from siphon cleaning week of Feb. 4

· No parking on West Commodore Way right-of-way in front of the project site (see second map below)

· High level of activity involving crews, trucks and equipment; noise and dust typical of a construction site

· Increased truck traffic near the work site and in the Salmon Bay Marine Center Parking lot

· Typical work hours Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.; longer weekday hours and Saturday work possible
