Officers stop curbside brawl
Around 1 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 28, officers were driving by the intersection of 8 Ave NW and NW 85 St, when they saw two subjects pushing each other and then begin to punch each other. There was a folding knife on the ground, next to the brawling duo. The officers called out to the subjects to stop, and both complied. Officers handcuffed the subjects and frisked them. They were fighting about a woman. One man thought the other had been with his girlfriend and struck him with a wooden board in the head. The man who was hit had a cut to his nose and lip but declined medical treatment. Officers removed the handcuffs, and both men left the area.
Transient threatens man on 14 Ave NW
When officers arrived on the 4600 block of 14 Ave NW around 4:45 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 26, they were flagged down by the victim. He explained that in the morning, the suspect, a transient, used the restroom at the store and took off his shoes, leaving them behind. The victim spoke to the suspect, telling him to leave, but the suspect kept coming back all day, banging on store windows and yelling at the victim. At one point, the suspect threatened to kill the victim and cut him into pieces. The suspect grabbed a golf club, raised it in the air and ran at the victim in a menacing way. The suspect then left the area and walked away to west on Leary Way NW. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the suspect.
Barroom altercation
Around 9 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 24, officers arrived in the 4900 block of Leary Ave NW to investigate an assault. They found the victim on crutches, with a cast on his right leg and a bandage over his nose. He was assaulted around 1:15 a.m. He was celebrating with his girlfriend when another man started talking to her. He confronted the suspect and the two became involved in a verbal altercation. Everyone was starting to leave the establishment, when the suspect struck him in the jaw. He fell to the ground. Witnesses saw the suspect hit the victim more when he was down. The victim suffered a broken right ankle, broken nose and busted lip. He was not able to identify the suspect. Officers recommended that the man contact the establishment to see if there was any surveillance footage.
Burglar came in through the kitchen window
At 9 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 25, officers headed to the 7700 block of 33 Ave NW to investigate a burglary. The victim reported that the crime occurred between 1 p.m. and 7:40 p.m. and the suspect stole jewelry. The burglar used a chair to get into a window in the kitchen. The suspect left behind footprints from walking in colored chalk outside the home. The burglar then exited through the backdoor. Photos were taken at the scene and uploaded into evidence.
