West Seattle is set to welcome its newest sweet spot as Molly Moon's Ice Cream celebrates the grand opening of its West Seattle scoop shop on June 21st. This highly anticipated event marks the eleventh location for the beloved ice cream purveyor in Western Washington, following their recent opening at the Seattle Waterfront.
The new shop is conveniently located on the northeast corner of California Ave SW and SW Alaska Street. The grand opening promises a day full of celebration, kicking off with a ribbon-cutting ceremony with @westseattlejunction at 3 PM, followed immediately by opening to the public. For the youngest ice cream enthusiasts, there will be free kids’ scoops for children 12 and under from 3 PM to 5 PM.
The shop will remain open until 11 PM for the day’s festivities.
Molly Moon's will be offering a full menu of their popular treats, including ice creams, toppings, sundaes, and milkshakes. You can look forward to a range of "Always Flavors," such as:

Beyond serving delicious treats, Molly Moon’s is deeply committed to community support and sustainability.
• Community Partnership: The new West Seattle location will be supporting the @westseattlefoodbank. Through their non-profit, The Anna Banana Milk Fund, 1% of annual sales plus customer donations are distributed to local food bank partners. Molly Moon’s is honored to support the West Seattle Food Bank, which has been serving the community since 1983. Annually, Molly Moon's donates over 20,000 gallons of milk to food banks. They also commit to giving the greater of 10% of profits or 1% of sales to food banks, equity organizations, and women and girl empowerment initiatives each year.
• Sustainable Sourcing: Molly Moon's sources 90% of its ingredients from the Pacific Northwest, ensuring dollars stay in the local economy and reducing fossil fuel consumption for transportation. All ingredients are either local, organic, or fair trade, with many being two of the three. The main ingredient, hormone-free milk and cream, comes from Edaleen Dairy, a local family-owned farm in Ferndale, WA. Edaleen Dairy utilizes an anaerobic digester to turn cow waste into enough electricity to power over 500 homes, liquid fertilizer for the entire farm, and sanitary mulch for cow bedding, reflecting a strong commitment to sustainability.
• Environmental Responsibility: Molly Moon's takes sustainability seriously, with everything used in their shops being 100% compostable, including spoons, straws, pint containers, lids, and even milkshake cups. Furthermore, they have committed to wind power by investing in Green-e Certified renewable energy certificates, meaning their 39,248 kWh of monthly electric consumption is now matched by clean energy.
• Advocacy for Small Businesses: Molly Moon's is a founding member business of the Main Street Alliance, an organization that has been countering the political misuse of small businesses by corporate interests since 2008. They advocate against unregulated capitalism and "bootstrap ideology," arguing these undermine the needs of actual small businesses and their employees. Through their work with MSA, they have championed initiatives such as including small business benefits in the Affordable Care Act, increasing the minimum wage, enacting Paid Safe & Sick Time, Secure Scheduling, and mandatory Paid Family Leave in their state. They also helped secure billions of dollars in pandemic-related aid for small businesses in 2020 and 2021.
