In business in the West Seattle Junction for 72 years, Junction Hardware was part of the True Value family of stores until last year when True Value Hardware was sold to Do it Best Corp. in a deal finalized on November 22, 2024. That meant the venerable business had to find a new national brand and Ace Hardware was a good fit.
They celebrated their grand re-opening on June 28 with a ribbon cutting ceremony.
It meant doing some restructuring inside the store, said owner Bruce Davis and adapting to a somewhat different way of doing business but otherwise it was a smooth transition. "I am happy to see you all here," Davis said, " We've been waiting for this day for a long time, because it was so hard and now we can say we're done, although not quite." He thanked the vendors in attendance Weber Grills Sodastream, Ego power tools and Benjamin Moore paint.
The event was a Bucket Sale tool and featured music from the West Seattle Center for Active Living playing ukeleles.
Also on hand were the West Seattle Food Bank and transactions rounded up were in support of the West Seattle YMCA.
The store is located at 4747 44th Ave. S.W.
