Get ready, White Center! The Eazy Duz It Car Club is bringing its annual car show back to the neighborhood on July 19th. The event will take place on 16th Avenue, spanning between 100th and Roxbury, promising a day filled with impressive vehicles and community fun.
The show is expected to feature a significant turnout, with more than 20 cars, and likely over 30 entries. It's not limited to vehicles from the Eazy Duz It Car Club; entries are welcomed from everyone around the area. Attendees can anticipate seeing a wide variety of automobiles, including classic cars, lowriders, and other customized vehicles.
For car enthusiasts looking to showcase their own ride, there's a simple registration process:
• You can pre-register on the Eazy Duz It Car Club's website. The fee for pre-registration is $15.
• Alternatively, you can register the day of the show when you arrive. The day-of registration fee is $25.
The car show will run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., offering a full day of entertainment. Beyond the cars themselves, visitors can enjoy a lively atmosphere with various vendors on site. These will include food vendors, clothing vendors, and jewelry vendors, among others.
The event also boasts some notable sponsors and participants:
•Hi-Lo Hydraulics, known for their pumps and hydraulic parts, will be present4.
• Original Low Rider, represented by Joe Ray, a significant figure in the lowrider community, will also be there.
A major highlight of the show is the hop contest, scheduled for 5 p.m.. During this exciting competition, participants will "hop" the front end of their cars to see which can go the highest. It's a testament to the powerful hydraulic equipment used, though it's common for parts to break down during such intense displays.
The Eazy Duz It Car Club show also holds a place in local history; last year's event was even filmed for an upcoming movie about White Center, created by Moses Olsen for the White Center Community Development Association, which is expected to be released in August. A memorable, though unfortunate, incident from last year's show involved a beautiful blue Cadillac Escalade lowrider that was stolen the day after the event from a hotel parking lot in SeaTac It is unclear if the owner, who was from Bellingham, ever recovered the vehicle.
