Evergreen High School is buzzing with activity as its new state-of-the-art facilities are nearly ready to welcome students this September, while simultaneously, the demolition of the old campus has begun to pave the way for future amenities.
The new school buildings are undergoing their final touches, with interior spaces polished, cleaned, and outfitted with equipment. Furniture is arriving, and teachers are preparing to unpack boxes. Outdoors, crews are planting the final shrubs and trees and paving the last sections of the outdoor courtyards and entryways. The kitchen successfully passed its health inspection in June.
Various specialized areas in the new campus are coming to life, including activity spaces and Career and Technical Education (CTE) classrooms. Wood shop equipment is already installed, mirrors are going up in the dance studio, and auditorium wall paneling is nearing completion. The three-story classroom wing on the north side is in its final cleaning phase, and the architect’s walk-through checklist, known as a punch list, is almost complete. Outside, the south courtyard is paved with surrounding landscaping nearly finished, and courtyard gates are being installed. Asphalt work continues at the tennis courts, and a new monument sign is taking shape at the east entrance.
Major changes are also underway at the old campus, with demolition already in progress. Following the move to the new buildings, utilities are being disconnected from the original school. Building 700, a round structure, has been completely demolished. Building 500 is already half down, and its demolition was completed by the end of Friday, July 11th. These initial demolitions are making way for the new main entrance driveway and parking lot.
Looking ahead, new furniture will continue to be delivered to classrooms and shared spaces. Crews will finalize fencing, signage, and planting in the west parking lot. A Temporary Certificate of Occupancy (TCO), which is the green light to begin using the new buildings, is anticipated in July. The remaining original buildings are slated for demolition in the coming months and will be replaced with new synthetic turf fastpitch and baseball fields by August 2026.
The Evergreen High School project, which is funded by the 2022 voter-approved bond, is reported to be on budget and on track to welcome students as planned in September. For those interested in seeing the progress, more interior and exterior photos were made available in a Facebook post on July 11, 2025.
