The highly anticipated West Seattle Glass Float Hunt is set to return for its fourth annual installment this August, inviting adventure seekers and community members to embark on a whimsical scavenger hunt throughout the neighborhood. Presented by the West Seattle Chamber of Commerce and the West Seattle Junction Association, this energetic and immersive event promises a week of fun, discovery, and community celebration.

The hunt will run from Friday, August 8, through Friday, August 15, 2025, spanning both weekdays and weekend days to allow ample opportunity for businesses and "float fairies" to hide new treasures daily.

What to Expect on the Hunt

Hunters will be searching for 100 individually hand-blown glass floats crafted by Avalon Glassworks. Each float is a beautiful 4-inch sphere, showcasing stunning, swirling pinks and purples, and is distinctly stamped with a heart and "WS" on its sealing bottom. These unique glass balls will be hidden in West Seattle's participating businesses and local parks, peeking out through the mesh of a knotted net bag.

A key enhancement for this year's hunt is the centralized online platform.

Daily clues on where to find these floats, along with real-time updates on found floats, will be posted on the dedicated official Float Hunt website: westseattlefloathunt.com.

How to Participate

The event is open to all float hunters. Once a beautiful glass float is found, it will be labeled with a tag featuring a unique QR code. Finders are encouraged to scan this QR code to register their discovery. This process automatically posts their information, including the float sponsor, on the official Float Hunt website, celebrating the finders, highlighting participating businesses, and showing the real-time status for other hunters.
