Shortly before midnight on Wednesday night a Ford Bronco, traveling at apparently high speed, hitting two other vehicles before going on its side and and ending up in the front yard of home in the 5200 block of Beach Drive near Canada Drive SW.
This car was moved some distance away after the collision. Photo by Jason R.
Area resident Jason R. who took photos at the scene said,
"It looks like the Bronco was going south bound on beach drive. it could have been well over 100… it pinballed off the white car and then hitting the silver car (sending the parked silver car a block away) and then came to a rest on its side in a yard. Driver is super lucky they didn’t catch fire (there was gas leaking on a hot engine) or they didn’t hit that pole… We recently moved here and the neighbors came out and everyone expressed how this is a regular thing. The last time this had happened apparently the guy died when they hit the pole."
The driver suffered undisclosed injuries and was taken to Harborview Hospital. Beach Drive was closed for a couple of hours.
The investigation remains open and ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call the Traffic Collision Investigation Squad at 206-684-8923.
