Gabriel Castro and Isidro Ocampo are the new owners of Pegasus Pizza in the West Seattle Junction.
For over three decades, Gabriel Castro and Isidro Ocampo have served as the culinary backbone of Pegasus Pizza and Pasta, and as of June 8, 2026, they have officially taken the reins as the restaurant's new owners. Having been with the establishment since 1996, the duo describes this transition as a natural next step in their long-standing commitment to the West Seattle neighborhood.
The acquisition follows the semi-retirement of the previous owner, Ted, who mentored Castro and Ocampo for years. For Gabe Castro, the connection to Pegasus is deeply personal; he has celebrated countless milestones in the kitchen and even met his wife at the restaurant. “We have poured my heart into this kitchen since day one,” Castro stated, noting that his vision is to ensure the restaurant remains the community's "go-to family gathering place".
While the "authentically delicious food" and warm hospitality that defined the restaurant for 42 years will remain, the new owners are introducing several exciting updates. Pegasus Pizza and Pasta will now offer a full breakfast menu from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and has introduced 14 new flavors of fried jumbo wings. To improve service, the team has updated kitchen equipment for faster food production and plans to launch in-house delivery soon.
The new leadership also emphasizes a deepened commitment to the local area by partnering with local food vendors and supporting neighborhood schools and organizations. Isidro Ocampo highlighted their desire to "create more opportunities for neighbors to come together".
To celebrate this new chapter, Pegasus Pizza will host a Grand Re-Opening Weekend from Friday, June 12th through Sunday, June 14th. During this period, the restaurant will offer a FREE half Greek salad with the purchase of a Large Tom’s Special, celebrating two of their most iconic menu items.
Located at 4520 California Ave SW, Pegasus Pizza continues its legacy of quality food and welcoming atmosphere under the leadership of the two men who have spent 30 years perfecting its craft. Castro and Ocampo expressed their deep gratitude to the West Seattle community for their loyalty and look forward to "creating many more memories around our tables".
