West Seattle will play for the state age 9-11 Little League all-star softball championship following its 11-1 win over Everett/Lake Stevens in Friday's loser's bracket final.
The Westsiders return to Gig Harbor to take on undefeated Magnolia/Northeast Seattle at 12:30 p.m. Saturday needing to win twice to take the title.
The Queen Anne/RUG/Ballard Junior age 13-14 baseball team opened West Region action in Bend, Oregon with a 14-8 loss to Nevada on Friday morning.
It plays a team to be determined at 2 p.m. Saturday in loser's bracket action.
West Seattle Little League, meanwhile, is hosting the state age 8-10 all-star softball tournament at its Bar-S complex but will not have a team there.
Renton is going as the District 7 champion and opens with a 3 p.m. Sunday game against the winner of a Saturday game between South Hill of Puyallup and Gig Harbor.
State championship play starts at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 1 with the if-neccessary second game following at 2 p.m.
