Don’t miss a free family-friendly outdoor show in South King County parks! Burien Actors Theatre (BAT) brings the comedy The Courage to Right a Woman’s Wrongs to a South King County park near you through Aug. 14.

In this comedy, Leonor has been wronged by Don Juan—so what’s a girl to do? Hunt the rat down and take a sword to his throat, of course! Dressed as the dashing Leonardo, Leonor travels to find him and initiates her shrewd plan for events. What follows is a hilarious feat of masterful maneuvering, cross-dressing and unexpected twists. Don Juan may have finally met his match!

Bring a chair or blanket to sit on. Burien Town Square Park has some built-in concrete seating, but that seating is very limited, so plan to arrive well in advance. Burien Town Square Park is also accessible to those with mobility concerns, as it has flat, paved access to the seating area and places on the pavement for walker seating and wheelchairs. Des Moines Beach Park, Liberty Park, and Shark Garden are all basically flat but on the grass.
Performances run approximately 90 minutes. Free public access is supported by 4Culture; the cities of Burien, Des Moines, Renton and SeaTac; the Shark Garden; and the Burien Arts Association. Special thanks goes to Kennedy Catholic High School and the Evergreen City Ballet.

THE CAST, DIRECTOR AND DESIGNERS
Stage director and script adapter Rachel Rene directs the talented cast of Shona Carter (Leonor/Leonardo), John Dugaw (Don Juan), Natasha Halfin (Estela), Mandela Gardner (Fernando/Astolfo), Julia Kulyk (Ludovico/Tibaldo), Riko Kishitani (Ribete/Rufino), Zoe Ding (Tomillo) and Cindy Chen (Lisarda). Rachel Rene was the originating adapter and director of BAT’s first parks show in 2019, and has continued in that role ever since.
The rest of the creative team for the show is: Alex Smith, assistant stage manager, Cyndi Baumgardner, props design; and Ashley McEneny, costume design.
