For one weekend this autumn, the private workspaces, backyards, and home studios of West Seattle will open their doors to the public for a unique, self-guided celebration of local creativity. On Saturday, September 19, and Sunday, September 20, 2026, the annual West Seattle Art Tour will return, offering art enthusiasts a rare, intimate look at where local art comes to life.

Running from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM each day, the completely free, community-driven event is organized and hosted entirely by the participating artists themselves. This year's tour features more than 50 professional and emerging juried artists showcasing a vibrant array of 2D and 3D artworks.

The Charm of the 'Host Site'

What sets the West Seattle Art Tour apart is its collaborative "host site" model. Rather than using a traditional, centralized gallery setting, a participating artist converts their own home or workspace into a public gallery and welcomes several guest artists to share the space.

According to organizers, this approach not only makes the tour highly accessible for visitors but also fosters deep camaraderie and collaboration among the local artist community. This year's tour spans 16 distinct host sites scattered across the beautiful West Seattle peninsula. The stop list highlights a vast range of artistic mediums, price points, and creative styles:

• Printmaking & Mixed Media: At Stop 1 (Basile-Lazarus Studio) on Belvidere Ave SW, host artist Lea Basile-Lazarus welcomes Kassie Hennessey, Jennifer Kegel, and Debbi Murray.
• Maritime Masterpieces: Visitors can head to Stop 8 on 49th Ave SW to meet Northwest maritime artist Phil Jones, alongside Tom Costantini, Natalie Fobes, Terri Goodwin, and Jessica Rasmusson.
• Handcrafted Jewelry: Located at Stop 4 (WEND Jewelry) on California Ave SW, the WEND Crew joins Rebecca Juarez and James Zlots to show off intricate jewelry creations.
• Ceramics and Sculptures: At Stop 15 (Westwood Art Studio) on 31st Ave SW, ceramicist Damian Grava hosts Angie Marcelynas, John Ellefson, and Elena Ruhleh.
• Collaborative Creative Spaces: Large-scale studios like Stop 11 (The Building) on SW Othello St feature a rich grouping of artists, including Rebecca Woodhouse, Jim Gerlitz, Shelley Irish, and Suzie Mulligan.
