The Alki Community Council has launched the Alki Statue of Liberty Repair Campaign to raise $5,000 for critical mortar repairs along the landmark's cracked base. Recognized as one of Seattle's most recognizable landmarks, the statue holds deep meaning far beyond its immediate neighborhood.

While the Alki Community Council manages the fund supporting ongoing maintenance by the Seattle Parks and Recreation Department, the required mortar repairs fall outside their formal agreement. Consequently, funds must be raised separately this fall to ensure maintenance can be scheduled for early spring.

Because the City of Seattle does not maintain the statue or surrounding plaza, preserving the landmark is a citizen-driven initiative reliant on community and business contributions. All donations are tax-deductible through the Alki Community Council, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and can be submitted on the Alki Community Council website. Any contributions exceeding the initial base repair target will be placed into the ongoing maintenance fund held by the Parks Department.
