Local families, costumed goblins, and pets gathered along California Avenue as the West Seattle Junction hosted its annual Harvest Fest 2026 on Sunday, October 25. The popular neighborhood celebration ran from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, filling the streets with autumn activities, continuous trick-or-treating, and spirited local competitions.
The festivities kicked off at 11:00 AM with a costume parade led by the West Seattle High School Marching Band.
At noon, the Seattle Thrillers took center stage at the All Ways Walk intersection in the heart of the Junction, captivating onlookers with their signature dance performance. Atmosphere and entertainment throughout the day were supported with sound provided by Jack Chandelier and music by BRYTWD.
The chili Cook Off offered small tastes.
Culinary Champions Take the Crown
Food lovers had plenty to cheer for as two fan-favorite culinary contests delivered high-stakes fun:
Chili Cook-Off: Festivalgoers tasted their way through nine recipes from local West Seattle restaurants to raise proceeds for the West Seattle Food Bank. When votes were tallied at 1:00 PM, Easy Street Records earned the top prize as this year's chili champion. Elliott Bay Brewpub took second place, followed by Westy Sports and Spirits.
Pie-Eating Contest: In the messy, hands-free A La Mode Pies Pie-Eating Contest, Vivien O'Connor claimed victory once again, successfully defending her title from last year.
"Elvis" Hound Wins Inaugural Pet Costume Parade
Making its official debut at Harvest Fest this year was the Pet Costume Contest, sponsored by All The Best Pet Care. Furry participants showed off a wide variety of creative outfits, but a dog dressed as Elvis stole the show and took home the top prize in the contest's first-ever running.
